Why Roasted Flax?
The Local Advantage
CanMar Flax is Canada’s only roasted flaxseed. Seeds are sourced from our farms in the Canadian prairies. Our flaxseed is mostly grown in Saskatchewan and processed in our Regina facility. The pristine cool climate provides ideal conditions for the production and processing of the highest quality flaxseed.
All of our roasted flaxseeds are created in our state of the art facility and we have meticulous quality control over every aspect, giving our customers a superior product every time.
Our Roasting Advantage
Our gentle roasting process brings out the delicious nutty taste of flaxseed without compromising its nutritional value. The roasting process makes our flax easy to digest and ready to eat straight from the bag, making it perfect for topping your yogurt, fruit or adding to a smoothie for breakfast. Skip the hassle of grinding flax before you eat it.
Roasted flaxseed naturally contains higher nutritional values because the moisture content is as low as 1%. CanMar Flax roasted flaxseed products provide essential fatty acids that our bodies cannot produce on their own. Flaxseed also contains over three times more Omega-3 than Omega-6 fatty acids – a rarity in the typical western diet. A 2 tablespoon serving of flaxseed contains 4 grams of fibre, plus 4 grams of protein, making it a great source of plant-based protein.
We start with high quality seed and up to date seed technology, carefully monitor our crop protection, harvest with the most modern technology, and ensure safe storage.
Our flaxseed goes through a 12-step cleaning process using the highest cleaning standards to achieve a product that is 99.99% pure – the highest standard in the flax seed industry! Our goal is to provide customers with pure golden coloured seeds cleaned to the highest standards.
The Best Taste & Aroma
Our roasted flaxseed maintains all the nutritional properties you expect from quality flax while achieving a delicious, nutty roasted aroma and crunchy texture. We are the only roasted flaxseed on the market, with varieties including: whole seed, milled and flavoured milled. Taste the difference!
